Abigail's Party Extends Again; New Group Shifts Teacher to Minetta Lane

The New Group is extending its production of Mike Leigh's Abigail's Party for a second time. The show will now run at the Acorn Theater at Theater Row through April 8. Due to the extension, the New Group is moving its next scheduled production, Wallace Shawn and Allen Shawn's The Music Teacher, to the Minetta Lane Theatre. The Music Teacher will run there from February 21 through April 8.

Abigail's Party is a dissection of British middle-class life in the 1970s. This tale of suburban London takes place over the course of one night and many cocktails. Romance, revelation and rude behavior follow as two gatherings in neighboring abodes are in full swing--which will be the one to remember? Headlined by Jennifer Jason Leigh, the cast of Abigail's Party also includes Max Baker, Lisa Emery, Darren Goldstein and Elizabeth Jasicki. Scott Elliott directs.
